Charles Montgomery Jr.

Charles Dale Montgomery, Jr., 75, passed away on March 27, 2025, at Glen Oaks Care Center.

Charles was born May 15, 1949 in Des Moines to Charles Sr. and Betty (Marshall) Montgomery. He taught Political Science, History and Government at Ackley- Geneva Public Schools, where he was adored and respected by his students and the staff. Charles was also a wrestling coach for many years. He loved classic rock and American folk music and collected hundreds of albums and CDs. Charles especially enjoyed the Beatles. He loved spending time with his brothers, Bill, Roger and Rick and his friends.

Charles is survived by his mother, Betty Montgomery; brothers, William (JoAnne) Montgomery and Rick (Susan) Montgomery; nephews, Maxwell, Adam and Jackson Montgomery; and a host of cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Montgomery, Sr. and his brother, Roger Montgomery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Charles will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
