Genevieve "Gen" Joan Naughton

Genevieve “Gen” Joan Naughton passed away at her home on October 8, 2024, at 99 years, 7 months, and 26 days.

Gen was born on February 11, 1925, to Elwood and Lela Travis (Ragan) of Winterset. Gen enjoyed playing golf and was associated with the women’s league at Grandview and Blank Golf Courses. One of her greatest thrills was on July 9, 1986, when she shot a hole-in-one.

Gen is survived by her three children, Linda (Ed) Beebe, Connie Naughton Topp, and Michael A. Naughton; her ten grandchildren, her 21 great-grandchildren; her 20 great-great-grandchildren; her step-sister, Betty Hughes; her half-sister, Lorna Ramsey; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gen was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jack A. Naughton.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Highland Memory Gardens; 1 NE 60th Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Samaritan’s Purse in loving memory of Genevieve.
